Russian has launched more than 120 missiles and 90 drones in what has been described as a “large-scale attack” on Ukraine on Sunday morning.

Russia has knocked out the country’s energy infrastructure using Iranian Shahed drones, aero ballistic and ballistic missiles.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukrainian defence forces shot down 140 air targets, adding, “The enemy’s target was our energy infrastructure throughout Ukraine.

“Unfortunately, there is damage to objects from hits and falling debris.

“In Mykolaiv, as a result of a drone attack, two people were killed and six others were injured, including two children.

“My condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased.

“As of now, areas are without power, [and] all the necessary forces are involved in the elimination of consequences and in restoration.”

“Cruise, ballistic and aeroballistic missiles: “Zircon”, “Iskander”, “Kinzhal”. In total, about 120 missiles and 90 drones. Our air defense forces destroyed more than 140 air targets,” said, President Zelensky added.

The head of Kyiv’s City Military Administration Serhii Popko said this was the most powerful attack in three months which left millions without power which also prompted the authorities to conduct emergency power shutdowns which caused blackouts.

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia beemed with joy, he said, “In the context of the ongoing conflict with Russia, Ukraine will face the same fate as those infrastructure facilities that were subjected to a massive Russian attack this morning.”

Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister said that Russia launched one of its “largest air attacks” on “peaceful cities, sleeping civilians” and on “critical infrastructure.”

He added, “This is war criminal Putin’s true response to all those who called and visited him recently. We need peace through strength, not appeasement.”
