The Russian ambassador to the UK has warned Britain supplying Kyiv with more long-range Storm Shadow missiles last week is fraught with risks of nuclear powers colliding.

Andrey Kelin said that the British government is allowing Ukraine to use these missiles for strikes inside Russia.

Kelin said that in the “worst-case scenario” there could be a nuclear confrontation as the UK has “completely ignored” all of Vladimir Putin’s warnings.

He said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel, “It has been reported that another batch of Storm Shadows was delivered [to Ukraine] several weeks ago.

“While there have been no clear statements that they [British authorities] have allowed Kiev to use these missiles for strikes inside Russia, Ukraine has already used them to strike the Kursk Region.

“I would like to note that the British have completely ignored all our warnings and opted for escalatory actions to further worsen the Ukrainian crisis.

“And, naturally, this is fraught with bigger strategic risks, and, in the worst case scenario, even a confrontation between nuclear powers.”

The Russian ambassador said the Moscow now considers London to be involved “in the armed conflict alongside Ukraine” against Russia, TASS reports.
