Select Fashion has collapsed and last month 35 stores closed their doors for the last time and staff have not been paid, it has been alleged.
Moorfields who is a insolvency company has wound down the womenswear chain.
Last Friday a creditor’s meeting was held to vote for a voluntary liquidation and workers have been informed they will not be paid the wages they have worked for and apply to the government for redundancy, The Sun reports.
Remaining staff at 48 stores have been told they will be paid late and The Sun has seen an email from Select Fashion, reading, “Please be assured that your wages will be processed and paid out next week.
“We are doing everything we can to resolve this matter as swiftly as possible and appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.”
