The US Air Force has deployed six B-2 stealth heavy strategic bombers as Iran tensions reach their highest point in history.

The six stealth bombers left Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri including refuelling aircraft from eight KC-135 Stratotankers.

It is believed the bombers are heading to Diego Garcia which is a strategic US military base situated in the Indian Ocean.

The B-2 is a key component of the US nuclear fleet and can deliver strategic nuclear weapons and the “bunker buster” bomb designed to penetrate underground facilities such as the heavily guarded Fordow nuclear facility which is 60 miles from Tehran and position inside a mountain.

The B-2 stealth bomber can evade radar and perfect for high-risk strike missions and can carry 40,000 pounds of weaponry and according to Fox News the two-ton “bunker buster” could be suitable to penetrate the Fordow nuclear facility which is close to the city of Qom.

The US President has given Iran two weeks to come to their “senses” after which a decision will be made by Donald Trump as to what military action will take place.

The US President has confirmed that Iran can “within a matter of weeks of months” build a nuclear weapons, to which Tehran has previously stated they will use on Israel.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday afternoon Trump was asked over the intelligence that Iran will be able to make a nuclear weapon.

He was then asked over claims that US intelligence said they “had no idea” if Iran could develop a nuclear bomb.

The US President asked, “who in the intelligence community said that?”

He was told by a journalist it was his director of intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Trump said, “She’s wrong.”

In March Gabbard told Capitol Hill the intelligence community “continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamenei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003.”

She added that Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile is at “its highest levels and is unprecedented for a state without nuclear weapons.”

The Iranian Foreign minister Abbas Araghchi has said they will not negotiate “until this aggression” from Israel “stops.”

He has accused Washington of “betrayal,” adding, “We were attacked in the midst of an ongoing diplomatic process.

“We were supposed to meet with the Americans on 15 June to craft a very promising agreement for peaceful resolution of the issues fabricated over our peaceful nuclear programme. It was a betrayal of diplomacy and an unprecedented blow to the foundations of international law.”
