Sterling edges higher against the dollar – London Business News | Londonlovesbusiness.com

On Monday morning sterling edged higher against the dollar by around 0.3% trading at $1.356 and the gains recouped last week’s losses.

Last week the pound fell from its highest point since 2022 and in the year-to-date Sterling has recovered at 8.1% against the dollar as US investor confidence trembled over Donald Trump’s tariff’s policy.

The dollar index was 0.3% lower and in the year-to-date the index has fallen by 8.8%.

On Monday morning the pound recovered 0.1% against the euro to 1.187.
