The Met Office has issued three yellow weather warnings over the next couple of days as Storm Kathleen will bring strong winds and rain with “transient snow” on high ground.
There will be unseasonably strong winds and for some parts of the UK temperatures will reach 20C.
Warm temperatures from Iberia will move north-eastwards and the mercury will rise across the UK and for some regions the temperature will hit 20C for the first time this year.
The areas which will see the highest temperatures will be East Anglia and southeast England where the mercury could hit 21C or even 22C on Saturday.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist Matthew Lehnert said, “Snow is expected to develop particularly over higher ground, during the early hours of Friday before easing during the morning.
“Accumulating snow is expected to mainly occur above around 200 metres, with a chance of temporary accumulations below this where precipitation becomes temporarily heavy.
“Two to five centimetres of snow is expected fairly widely above 250 metres, with a chance that a few places within the warning area at lower levels could see a few centimetres settle.
“Accumulations of 10 cm or more are expected to be reserved for areas above 300 metres.”
The yellow weather warnings are in place from 3am until 9am on Friday.

Heavy rain will hit the central belt on Thursday evening and will then clear on Friday morning, and there is a yellow rain warning in place from 2am until 9am.
On Saturday the 11th named storm of the season will move towards the UK and Ireland from the southwest which will bring strong winds to western parts of the UK.
On Saturday a yellow weather warning is in place from 8am until 10pm for parts of western UK and Northern Ireland.
Deputy Chief Meteorologist Christoph Almond said: “Gusts of 50 mph are expected quite widely on Saturday, while some exposed spots, particularly on the coast, will see 60 to 70 mph gusts with large waves also likely.”
