The biggest theme across the CES 2026 floor covering the TV industry has been RGB or Micro RGB tech for display panels. Samsung and LG are the big players in the field, and TCL has joined the ranks, too. But the brand wants to stand out from the crowd with a different breed of TVs, one that sets the stage for SQD-Mini LED TVs.

The secret sauce

The latest from the label is the TCL X11L SQD-Mini LED, which comes in three sizes (75, 85, and 98 inches) and is now up for pre-orders starting at $6,999 in the US. At the heart of the SQD-Mini LED tech are two secret recipes — Super Quantum Dots and the CSOT UltraColor Filter that relies on much smaller 5-nanometer color particles.

During a press briefing, TCL explained that the end goal is achieving extremely high color accuracy at the pixel level. On the technical side, TCL is also touting an astounding 10,000 nits of peak brightness, 7,000:1 contrast ratio, and 100% of BT2020 color coverage.

These TVs also employ a new Halo Control System that offers more precise control over dimming zones (of which there are 20,000) and bright patches, while toning down the notorious color blooming effect. The end result is a TV that delivers extremely sharp visuals, precise colors, deep blacks, and high brightness.

What else is on the table?

The TCL X11L SQD-Mini LED TV relies serves extremely slim borders and also throws an in-house anti-reflective layer into the mix. Support for Dolby Vision 2.0 Max output will be added soon via a software update, while the audio engineering has been done in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen.

“For the first time, consumers can add an optional wireless subwoofer, without having to buy an audio system or soundbar,” says the company. The entire cabinet is just 0.8 inches across with extremely slim borders, putting it in the same league as LG’s new Wallpaper and Samsung’s 130-inch Micro RGB TVs. Google TV handles things on the software side, with full Gemini integration in tow.
