Thanks to the Super Bowl, all of this week’s new shows have already premiered. Not even HBO wants to go up against that ratings juggernaut, which is why the penultimate episode of True Detective: Night Country is premiering later today (Friday, February 9), instead of on a Sunday, like all the other episodes. In the meantime, Max has premiered the new season of Tokyo Vice, while Halo season 2 is bringing the action on Paramount+. Netflix doesn’t really have a new show this week, but it does have the complete eight-season run of Monk, which originally ran on USA Network from 2002 to 2009.

Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Max, Disney+, Paramount+, Peacock, and Apple TV+ have done a pretty good job this year of releasing new shows at a steady pace. Having said that, we’re less than thrilled by the rising rates. Only Apple TV+ has resisted the urge to add commercials to the lowest tiers. But if you are looking to save some money on your streaming services, then you may want to consider signing up for the ad-supported tiers. In the meantime, here’s our weekly roundup of the best new shows to stream.
When you’re done here, check out the best new movies to stream this week, as well as the best shows on Netflix, best shows on Hulu, best shows on Amazon Prime Video, and best shows on Disney+.
