The PlayStation 5 has been out for some time now, and its reception has been mostly positive. It includes lots of quality-of-life improvements over its predecessor, the PlayStation 4, such as faster load times, a solid-state drive (SSD) instead of a regular hard disk drive (HDD), and an improved controller thanks to the new DualSense. Having said all that, a console is only as good as the games available on it, and thankfully, the PS5 has you covered on that front as well.
While the machine already has a worthy library of great PS5 games, there are even more to look forward to, with some releasing as soon as this month, while others are years away. In the video game world, it’s not uncommon to be aware of games that are still several years off, while it’s also normal for a new game to be revealed and launched within just a couple of months. In this comprehensive list, we’ll go through the major PS5 releases from 2022, leading up to 2023.
These are the best upcoming PS5 games to look forward to.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0
Many were shocked at this game’s announcement, as the original Warzone still needs a lot of work on the development side. But yes, Warzone 2.0 is coming at some point in 2022, though Activision has yet to give us a firm release date. We do know it’ll run on the same engine as Modern Warfare II, and both are being built from the ground up alongside one another. Warzone 2.0 will hopefully run more smoothly than its predecessor, with various quality-of-life improvements, along with the highly requested FOV slider on consoles. It’s likely this game will launch in December 2022.

Untitled Ubisoft Star Wars game
Now that EA’s exclusive Star Wars deal has expired, other companies — such as Ubisoft — are free to work on games within the beloved franchise. We know Ubisoft Massive is now developing an open-world Star Wars game under the Lucasfilm Games umbrella. This will be the first Star Wars game published by a company other than EA since 2013. It’s unknown when it’ll launch, but our guess is 2024.
