The Home Office has “paused decision” on Syrian asylum claims following Bashar al-Assad being toppled by rebels on Sunday.

After the outbreak of civil war in Syria millions fled for safety after Assad committed war crimes in his cruel attacks on his opponents.

In the UK thousands have been given asylum and many have said they want to return back to Syria now Assad has fled to Russia.

A Home Office spokesman said, “The Home Office has paused decisions on Syrian asylum claims whilst we assess the current situation.

“We keep all country guidance relating to asylum claims under constant review so we can respond to emerging issues.”
