Newly-emerged footage shows a concerned member of the public approaching two Metropolitan Police officers at a vigil for Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah who was killed in an Israeli air strike.

The vigil took place in broad daylight in Trafalgar Square and the footage was taken on 28 September.

It is the duty of the police to enforce the law, and what is plainly shocking the two Met cops appear to have no clue who the leader of the proscribed terrorist group Hezbollah are.

For the Met Police to not to know that Hezbollah is a proscribed terrorist organisation is quite baffling, and they clearly allowed people to demonstrate with no concern or regard about the event, it seems quite clear Scotland Yard needs to train their officers alot better.

MI5 warns Russia is on a mission to cause ‘mayhem on British streets’

When the member of the public tells the officers that Hezbollah is proscribed under British law, one of the officers responds: “Your opinion is your opinion.”

It was only last week the head of MI5 warned over the risk of Iranian proxy groups such as Hezbollah pose in the UK.

A spokesperson for Campaign Against Antisemitism said, “This newly-surfaced footage is jaw-dropping.

“The Head of MI5 has warned about the risk that Iran and its proxies pose to the UK, yet here was a vigil for an Iranian-backed proscribed terrorist group leader on our streets. When someone tried to point out to police officers that Hizballah is a terrorist organisation, he was gaslit, told that this was merely his ‘opinion’.

“It is hard to watch the lack of training of Met officers on display here without despairing. For Britain’s Jews, acutely aware of Hizballah’s antisemitic genocidal intentions and record, it is terrifying.

“How are our officers supposed to protect us when they don’t even understand the law? We will be writing to the Metropolitan Police.”

They said on X, “It’s legally a terrorist organisation.” “Your opinion is your opinion.” If you have wondered why @MetPoliceUK’s policing of antisemitism and support for terror has been so poor, here is why.

“As we have seen at recent protests, anti-Israel demonstrators are now freely showing their support for Hizballah, an antisemitic Iranian proxy that is proscribed as a terrorist organisation under British law.

“With the head of MI5 warning about the significant risk posed to the UK by Iranian-backed groups, it has never been more urgent that police understand the very real threat that support for Hizballah and other Islamist terror groups poses to us all. Here is newly-emerged jaw-dropping footage from London’s Trafalgar Square on 28th September, where a vigil for Hizballah’s leader was taking place in broad daylight.

“The video shows what happened when someone tried to inform the police that Hizballah is a terrorist organisation. How is the Metropolitan Police supposed to protect us when they don’t actually educate their officers on the law?

“While these police officers did not conduct themselves satisfactorily, we are posting this video principally because of what it says about the training and priorities of the Metropolitan Police as an institution, and we have therefore chosen to blur their faces.”
