The Ukrainian President held a press conference on Friday after meeting with the Czech President Petr Pavel and announced that Ukraine had many air defence systems with no missiles.

On Friday Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine now has received a delivery of missiles for their air defence systems.

President Zelensky said, “Sometimes you want to speak frankly, but the situation does not allow it. For example, until this morning we had several air defense systems without missiles.

“Today I can say this openly, because today I have these missiles.”

He added, “The issue is not only about Patriot systems, which will never be enough. Ukraine has many different systems, brought in during the war, of various kinds.

“Continuous missile packages are needed. Today, thank God, early this morning we received a serious package. It is now in Ukraine, and I can talk about it.

“But this comes at the cost of such efforts, the blood, and the lives of people, etc.”

Pavel said that he supports Ukraine’s peace efforts and he is urging for more pressure to be placed on Russia, who has not shown they are willing to engage in dialogue.

The President of the Czech Republic said, “I am confident that the efforts personally undertaken by President Zelensky will soon lead to a united stance by the United States and Europe in joint peace talks and will enable joint pressure on Russia, which will finally begin to negotiate.

“So far we see this will only be on Ukraine’s side, and on Russia’s side there are not even signs of this will.”

Pavel added, “I cannot imagine this conflict lasting any longer, because it has not only catastrophic consequences but also requires a huge amount of resources and energy that could be directed toward better things – such as reconstruction or a normal, ordinary way of life that we would like to live together”
