The US Senator Mark Warner has told Congress on Tuesday of “sloppy, careless incompetent behaviour” by of Donald Trump officials over the leak via Signal.

This comes as the Atlantic editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg was accidentally added to a Signal chat along with top Trump administration officials.

Goldberg said he was mistakenly added to the private Signal chat on Monday where officials discuss planned for strikes on Yemen.

Warner who is responsible to provide oversight on all US intelligence agencies slammed Trump officials for not checking “security.”

Warner said, “Putting aside for a moment that classified information should never be discussed over an unclassified system.

“It’s also just mind-boggling to me that all these senior folks were on this line, and nobody bothered to even check security. Hygiene 101. Who are all the names? Who are they? Well, it apparently included a journalist.”

He added, “If this was the case of a military officer or an intelligence officer, and they had this kind of behaviour, they would be fired.

“I think this is one more example of the kind of sloppy, careless, incompetent behaviour, particularly towards classified information, that this is not a one-off or a first time error.”

Warner praised the editor in chief of the Atlantic saying no matter how much” Pete Hegseth “or others want to disparage him.”

The Defence Secretary said that “nobody was texting war plans” and Hegseth was openly caught out lying as the National Security Council spokesperson Brian Hughes said the Signal chat “appears to be authentic.”

Hegseth despicably told Fox News, “You’re talking about a deceitful and highly discredited so-called journalist (editor-in-chief of the Atlantic) who’s made a profession of peddling hoaxes,” this comes as Goldberg redacted some of what he read.

Warner then hit out at the US President’s officials for abandoning their allies and there is a clear “pattern of amazon cavalier attitudes towards classified information.”

He blasted Trump officials for being “reckless” and “sloppy” adding, “Perhaps what troubles me the most is the way the administration has decided we can take on all our problems by ourself [sic] without any need for friends or allies.”

Hegseth said on Signal he is “loathing of European freeloading” and the US Vice President who clearly doesn’t like the allis said, “I just hate bailing Europe out again.”

Warner furiously blasted, “The US is starting to act like our adversaries.

“Voting in the UN with Russia, Belarus and North Korea – that’s a rogues gallery if I’ve ever heard of one.”

Warner warned, “The Signal fiasco is not a one-off. It is a pattern we are seeing too often repeated.”
