A long-range US stealth B-2 bomber has blown up a Houthi underground ammunition depot in Yemen in what has been described as a warning to Iran.

US officials said the air strikes took place on Thursday morning to strike the underground ammunition bunkers.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said in a statement the bombers carried out a strike on “five hardened underground weapons storage locations in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.”

“This was a unique demonstration of the United States’ ability to target facilities that our adversaries seek to keep out of reach, no matter how deeply buried underground, hardened, or fortified,” Austin added.
